LOS CABALLOS DEL VINO, CARAVACA DE LA CRUZ

Image
This is a short video about one of the most popular festivities in my region, Murcia. In a town called Caravaca de la Cruz 700 years ago lived together moors and christians. There is a beautiful story behind with the horses as main characters. This celebration reminds us how important is to celebrate the different cultures in a possitive way. The welcoming and fantastic habitants of Carvaca know this well, and every year they come together to cheer the horses and celebrate our history.

Three Wise Men Parade in Murcia, my hometown Another tradition in Spain in Chirstmas is visiting Nativity Scenes, what we call "Belenes" . In a small village next to Murcia, called " El Raal" there's a nice living "Belen" that every year thousands of tourists visit. It is similar to Mexican traditional "Posadas" . Here you are some images. Belen viviente " El Raal", Murcia

Castles of Spain

Castles of Spain

AVILA , CIUDAD DE LOS CABALLEROS

Image
We're exploring Spain and its castles in Spanish language Arts.Within "El Quijote " project we will study the culture of Spain, its arts and history. This will be linked as well with arts, music and maths. In this case, this presentation is about one of the most important castles in Spain, in fact , the whole city is surrounded by a very well preserved wall which is included in Unesco World Heritage Convention since 1985. Founded in the 11th century to protect the Spanish territories from the Moors, this 'City of Saints and Stones', the birthplace of St Teresa and the burial place of the Grand Inquisitor Torquemada, has kept its medieval austerity. This purity of form can still be seen in the Gothic cathedral and the fortifications which, with their 82 semicircular towers and nine gates, are the most complete in Spain.
